Step 1: Getting Started
Used: 1 Graphire Tablet [not required], Painter 7 [will work for ver. 6-8], an idea [supply your own.]
So you want to make something in Painter. Well, great! How, you are wondering. Well, you could take a scanned sketch in and make that your "canvas" [the bottom, permanent layer in Painter], or you cna start with a fresh canvas with the New file option. In this piece I use a new canvas.
This is my arrangement for working; the new file is a 4" x 5" canvas at 200 dots per inch. [That's 800x100 pixels for 200dpi.] I haven't even saved the file yet... this is how a brand new work will usually look - dimensions aside. I picked a high resolution so that I could have this printed later.
